Patient-initiated follow-up: leave no one behind
The gap between demand and supply of health-care services is increasing, exacerbated by a growing workforce shortage, increasing demands on clinician time, and record-breaking waiting lists. Health-care systems need to adapt and empower patients to have greater ownership of their own care, without compromising on quality of care, patient safety, and health outcomes. Any approach to patient management should be designed with the unique requirements of the service and the patient population in mind.
