x or block pathogenic communication with surrounding cells. However, the type and extent of extracellular changes triggering liver fibrosis depend on the underlying etiology. Our aim was to unveil matrisome genes not dependent on etiology, which are clinically relevant to liver fibrosis. Approach & Results: We used transcriptomic profiles from liver fibrosis cases of different etiologies to identify and validate liver fibrosis-specific matrisome genes (LFMGs) and their clinical and biological relevance. Dysregulation patterns and cellular landscapes of LFMGs were further explored in mouse models of liver fibrosis progression and regression by bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing. We identified 35 LFMGs, independent of etiology, representing an LFMG signature defining liver fibrosis. Expression of the LFMG signature depended on histological severity and was reduced in regressive livers. Patients with liver fibrosis, even with identical pathological scores, could be subclassified into LFM

A 65-year-old man who had a local recurrence in the oral cavity during follow-up after chemoradiotherapy for oropharyngeal carcinoma underwent percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) because of difficulty in oral intake. He had no underlying disease and no relevant family history and was on no medications including antithrombotic drugs. One month after PEG, the patient developed hematemesis at night. He was in shock, and after his condition was stabilized, emergency esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) was performed.

Transoral outlet reduction (TORe) and antiobesity medication (AOM) are effective treatments for weight regain after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB). This study aims to assess the efficacy of combination therapy (TORe + AOM) for treating weight regain and to compare the safety and efficacy of combination therapy with AOM alone, TORe alone, and surgical revision of RYGB.

Mashup Score: 2A novel self-assembling peptide gel for the treatment of ulcer associated with a fish bone penetrating the esophagus - 1 year(s) ago
A 78-year-old woman visited a nearby clinic because of discomfort and pain with swallowing. CT showed a 30.0-mm diameter, high-density structure in the upper esophagus, and she was referred to our hospital. Emergency EGD with a soft cap revealed a fish bone horizontally penetrating the esophagus (A). The fish bone was successfully extracted by use of a the grasper, with an esophageal surgeon present. A full-thickness ulcer was observed at the site of fish bone removal, which made it seem difficult to treat with clip suturing (B).
