Lessons to learn from the 2024 NICE guideline on adrenal insufficiency
The diagnosis and management of adrenal insufficiency presents major clinical challenges. Of concern, adrenal insufficiency-related hospital admissions and adrenal crises (with their associated morbidity and mortality) have increased considerably in the last two decades.1 As such, publication of the 2024 National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guideline on the identification and management of adrenal insufficiency is important, timely, and addresses an area of considerable unmet clinical need.
