Mashup Score: 14Gender-related self-reported mental health inequalities in primary care in England: a cross-sectional analysis using the GP Patient Survey - 3 month(s) ago
Together with existing evidence, our findings showed large gender-related inequalities in self-reported mental health outcomes in England. Given the existence of self-reported unmet mental health needs, we suggest that better health care system inclusivity and health-care professional training are needed, alongside broader improvements in the social and legal environment for transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse people.

An easy-to-use, proactive, diagnostic strategy more than doubled the number of new diagnoses of heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and coronary artery disease in patients with type 2 diabetes or COPD in primary care compared with usual care. Although the effect on patient outcomes remains to be studied, our diagnostic strategy might contribute to improved early detection and timely initiation of treatment in individuals with cardiovascular disease.

Mashup Score: 6Overdose mortality incidence and supervised consumption services in Toronto, Canada: an ecological study and spatial analysis - 3 month(s) ago
We found that the period during which SCS were implemented in Toronto was associated with a reduced overdose mortality in surrounding neighbourhoods. The magnitude of this inverse association increased from 2018 to 2019, equalling approximately two overdose fatalities per 100 000 people averted in the square mile surrounding SCS in 2019. Policy makers should consider implementing and sustaining SCS across neighbourhoods where overdose mortality is high.

Initiatives are needed to reduce diagnostic delays and improve treatment outcomes for US-born racially marginalised people in the USA.

Mashup Score: 1The effect of informal caring on mental health among adolescents and young adults in Australia: a population-based longitudinal study - 4 month(s) ago
Our findings suggest potential mental health effects of informal care in young people, particularly when providing an intense amount of caregiving. Reducing young caring loads could be a possible avenue for intervention.

Mashup Score: 9Mental and physical health changes around transitions into unpaid caregiving in the UK: a longitudinal, propensity score analysis - 4 month(s) ago
Our findings highlight the importance of early identification of and support for caregivers, including younger caregivers. This is important to break the cycle of caregiving and future care need. Health services staff, including general practitioners and hospital discharge teams, are well positioned for early identification of caregivers. We also encourage particular support for the mental health of caregivers and particularly those who become caregivers at a younger age.
