Mashup Score: 12The Spatial Ventricular Gradient is Associated with Inducibility of Ventricular Arrhythmias During Electrophysiology Study - 7 day(s) ago
Myocardial electrical heterogeneity is critical for normal cardiac electromechanical function, but abnormal/excessive electrical heterogeneity is proarrhythmic. The spatial ventricular gradient (SVG), a vectorcardiographic measure of electrical heterogeneity, has been associated with arrhythmic events over long-term follow-up, but its relationship with short-term inducibility of ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) is unclear.

Mashup Score: 58Risk Stratification for the Occurrence of Ventricular Fibrillation in Patients with Early Repolarization Syndrome - 7 day(s) ago
Several signs of malignant early repolarizations (ERs) have been proposed in patients with ER syndrome (ERS). However, recent reports have challenged the efficacy of these signs in predicting future ventricular fibrillation (VF) in patients with ERS.

Mashup Score: 34Novel Methodology for Non-Fluoroscopic Wire Visualization During Pulsed Field Ablation for the Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation - 7 day(s) ago
Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is a novel non-thermal ablation modality for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF).1–3 PFA is associated with shorter procedure times compared to radiofrequency ablation (RFA) with similar efficacy. However, fluoroscopic times are longer due to a lack of optimized electro-anatomical (EAM) mapping systems.3 We describe a novel approach for non-fluoroscopic wire visualization using EAM during PFA.

Mashup Score: 35Empirical slow pathway ablation in patients with paroxysmal palpitations and pounding in the neck: A 15-year follow-up - 9 day(s) ago
Electrocardiographic documentation of atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) in patients with paroxysmal tachycardia is not always feasible. Even in patients with documented paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), sustained AVNRT may not be induced during electrophysiological study (EPS). Pounding in the neck—flapping or bulging sensation and appearance of neck veins—also called the “frog sign,” is considered a classic anamnestic symptom or, when visible, a sign due to simultaneous contractions of the atria and ventricles against closed atrioventricular (AV) valves during AVNRT.

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) has an estimated annual incidence of 1 per 1000, based on epidemiological studies from death certificates. However, up to 40% of sudden deaths have been determined to be caused by extracardiac causes in autopsy studies.1,2 We aimed to determine the autopsy rate of out-of-hospital sudden, unexpected death and estimate the SCD incidence in Northern Finland (∼740,000 inhabitants) in 2016.

Mashup Score: 10Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Phenotypical Classification in Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy: Time for a Reformation?! - 11 day(s) ago
Representing the spark that lit the Protestant Reformation, on the 31st of October Anno Domini 1517 Reverend Martin Luther sent the manuscript entitled “Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences” to the Archbishop of Mainz for academic disputation or, as it would be called today, external peer review. This document challenged well-established religious beliefs of the time, leading to massive changes across a society ripe for transformation yet deeply entrenched into outdated believes.

Mashup Score: 9A Non-Physician, Outpatient Implantable Loop Recorder Explant Service Is Safe And Cost Effective. The OLÉ Audit. - 13 day(s) ago
The transition of implantable loop recorder (ILR) explant procedures from physician to non-physician (NP) and from catheter labs (CL) to outpatient (OP) settings has not been as thoroughly investigated. We implemented a NP, OP ILR explant service in 2021, and hypothesized that it would have comparable safety outcomes, save time, and reduce costs.

Mashup Score: 652024 HRS expert consensus statement on arrhythmias in the athlete: Evaluation, treatment, and return to play - 13 day(s) ago
Youth and adult participation in sports continues to increase, and athletes may be diagnosed with potentially arrhythmogenic cardiac conditions. This international multidisciplinary document is intended to guide electrophysiologists, sports cardiologists, and associated health care team members in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of arrhythmic conditions in the athlete with the goal of facilitating return to sport and avoiding the harm caused by restriction. Expert, disease-specific risk assessment in the context of athlete symptoms and diagnoses is emphasized throughout the document.
