Selective vulnerability of the ventral hippocampus-prelimbic cortex axis parvalbumin interneuron network underlies learning deficits of fragile X mice
Bhandari et al. determine whether the patterns of dysfunctions in Fmr1y/− fragile X model mice result from ubiquitous circuit deficits or might reflect selective vulnerabilities of targetable subnetworks. They show that Fmr1y/− mice exhibit a selective vulnerability to the absence of FMRP specifically along the ventral hippocampus-prelimbic cortex (vH-PreL) axis.
