United action is needed to prioritise brain health
More than 3·4 billion people have conditions that affect the nervous system, and together such conditions are the leading cause of disease burden worldwide. This burden is increasing, but brain health still does not seem to be a high enough priority on international agendas. Several recent events and initiatives have highlighted the need to promote brain health, and a concerted effort is now required to build on this momentum, not only to increase awareness but also to ensure that the potential benefits for individuals and countries are realised.
