Mashup Score: 44Prognostic Significance of Elevated Left Ventricular Filling Pressures with Exercise: Insights from a Cohort of 14,338 Patients - 28 day(s) ago
Exercise echocardiography can assess for cardiovascular causes of dyspnea other than coronary artery disease. However, the prevalence and prognostic significance of elevated left ventricular (LV) filling pressures with exercise is understudied.

Mashup Score: 17Elevated atrial blood stasis in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation during sinus rhythm: a patient-specific computational fluid dynamics study - 1 month(s) ago
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with an increased risk of stroke, often caused by thrombi that form in the left atrium (LA), and especially in the left atrial appendage (LAA). The underlying mechanism is not fully understood but is thought to be …

Mashup Score: 52Spectral Doppler Interrogation of the Pulmonary Veins for the Diagnosis of Cardiac Disorders: A Comprehensive Review - 2 month(s) ago
Data obtained from echocardiographic studies are used on a daily basis to guide clinical decision-making regarding patient management and the need for additional diagnostic investigations. Interrogation of blood flow in the pulmonary veins by spectral, most often pulsed-wave, Doppler is an important component of any comprehensive echocardiographic study. Whereas it is most often used to help assess left-sided filling pressure and quantify the severity of mitral regurgitation, the pulmonary vein Doppler profile provides added diagnostic insights into several disorders that affect heart function and allows assessment of their hemodynamic consequences on the heart.
