Dupuytren’s disease (DD) is a progressive fibroblastic proliferative disease involving the palmar aponeurosis of the hand. The prevalence of DD in the US is estimated to be 3% to 5%, with higher rates in those with Northern European descent, a history of other fibroblastic disorders, type II diabetes, some medications, alcohol, and tobacco exposure, as well as certain repetitive or vibration related activities of the hand.1 There is also an increased incidence in men and as age increases over 50.
