As genomics centres in Africa prepare to deploy their sequencing capabilities to cancer research, a new WHO report has highlighted an urgent need to accelerate the introduction of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. The report also emphasises efforts to address breast cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through integrated health-care services.
