Objective To find the relationship between N6-methyladenosine (m6A) genes and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Methods Differential expression of m6A associated genes between normal and MDD samples was initially identified. Subsequent analysis was conducted on the functions of these genes and the pathways they may affect. A diagnostic model was constructed using the expression matrix of these differential genes, and visualized using a nomogram. Simultaneously, an unsupervised classification method was employed to classify all patients based on the expression of these m6A associated genes. Following this, common differential genes among different clusters were computed. By analyzing the functions of the common differential expressed genes among clusters, the role of m6A-related genes in the pathogenesis of MDD patients was elucidated. Background This study aimed to explore the gut microbiota and inflammatory factor characteristics in major depressive disorder (MDD) patients with anorexia and to analyze the correlation between gut microbiota and inflammatory factors, anorexia, and HAMD scores. Methods 46 MDD patients and 46 healthy controls (HC) were included in the study. The 46 MDD patients were divided into two groups according to whether they had anorexia:20 MDD without anorexia (MDA0 group) and 26 MDD with anorexia (MDA1 group). We used the Hamilton Depression Scale-24 (HAMD-24) to evaluate the depression status of all participants and 16 S ribosomal RNA (16 S rRNA)sequencing to evaluate the composition of the gut microbiota. Inflammatory factors in peripheral blood such as C-reactive protein (CRP) were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Background The underlying neurobiology of the complex autism phenotype remains obscure, although accumulating evidence implicates the serotonin system and especially the 5HT2A receptor. However, previous research has largely relied upon association or correlation studies to link differences in serotonin targets to autism. To directly establish that serotonergic signalling is involved in a candidate brain function our approach is to change it and observe a shift in that function. Background Observational studies have suggested a link between panic disorder (PD) and Alzheimer disease (AD). This study aimed to identify the underlying association of PD with the risk of AD using Mendelian randomization. Methods Genetic instrumental variables (IVs) were retrieved in the genome-wide association study between PD and AD. Then, five different models, namely inverse variance weighting (IVW), weighted median, weighted mode, MR-Egger and MR-robust adjusted profile scores (MR-RAPS), were used for MR Analysis. Finally, the heterogeneity and pleiotropy of identified IVs were verified by multiple sensitivity tests. Results The Cochran’s Q test based on MR Egger and IVW showed that no evidence of heterogeneity was found in the effects of instrumental variables, so a fixed-effect model was used.
