Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is a complex and multifaceted disorder that defies simplistic characterisation. Traditional approaches to diagnosing and treating ME/CFS have often fallen short due to the condition’s heterogeneity and the lack of validated biomarkers. The growing field of precision medicine offers a promising approach which focuses on the genetic and molecular underpinnings of individual patients. In this review, we explore how machine learning and multi-omics (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) can transform precision medicine in ME/CFS research and healthcare. We provide an overview on machine learning concepts for analysing large-scale biological data, highlight key advancements in multi-omics biomarker discovery, data quality and integration strategies, while reflecting on ME/CFS case study examples. Background The field of single cell technologies has rapidly advanced our comprehension of the human immune system, offering unprecedented insights into cellular heterogeneity and immune function. While cryopreserved peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) samples enable deep characterization of immune cells, challenges in clinical isolation and preservation limit their application in underserved communities with limited access to research facilities. Background Dietary cholesterol promotes metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), with hepatic macrophages central to disease pathology. However, the mechanisms by which cholesterol-loaded macrophages influence MASH remain unclear. Methods In this study, mice were fed a cholesterol-rich choline-deficient, L-amino acid-defined, high-fat diet (CDAHFD). There is a need to investigate the effect of lifestyle modifications on cardiometabolic health-related issues that occur during menopause. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of resistance and endurance circuit training program alone (exercise group, n = 34) with the effect of time-restricted eating (16:8) combined with a training program (combination group, n = 28) on cardiometabolic health in 62 menopausal women (aged 51.3 ± 4.69 years). Testing was conducted before and after a 12-week period and included an assessment of body composition, glycemic control, lipid panel, blood pressure, and anthropometric measurements. Decreases in body mass index and systolic blood pressure were significantly greater in the combination group than in the exercise group (F(1,60) = 4.482, p = 0.038, η2 = 0.07; F(1,57) = 5.215, p = 0.026, η2 = 0.08, respectively, indicating moderate effects). Purpose Intestinal flora promotes the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer (CRC) through microorganisms and their metabolites. This study aimed to investigate the composition of intestinal flora in different stages of CRC progression and the effect of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) on CRC mice. Methods The fecal microbiome from healthy volunteers (HC), colorectal adenoma (CRA), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and CRC patients were analyzed by 16s rRNA gene sequencing.
