Citrate metabolism controls the senescent microenvironment via the remodeling of pro-inflammatory enhancers
Etoh et al. show the molecular basis of the ATP-citrate lyase (ACLY)-mediated senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) in senescent cells (SnCs) via the pro-inflammatory enhancer remodeling. The axis of ACLY and the chromatin reader BRD4 is required for pro-inflammatory SASP gene expression.
