Mashup Score: 97The NMA Advocates for DEI in Medicine - National Medical Association - 2 month(s) ago
The attack on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs plays a pivotal role in hindering the advancement of diverse students. As of late, the threats against DEI have directed attention toward the health care industry. Coupled with the earlier elimination of affirmative action, removing DEI in higher education not only adds to the long list of systemic and structural barriers, it will continue to widen the diversity gap among U.S. physicians. Only 5.7% of U.S. doctors identify as Black American.

Mashup Score: 0340B Drug Pricing Program RSVP - 4 month(s) ago
The 340B drug pricing program has been a staple in the American healthcare system since the early 1990’s. Under the program, covered safety net hospitals and other community care organizations can access certain outpatient prescription drugs at reduced costs. Since its inception, the program has helped thousands of people get the medicines they need at a more affordable price. Many feel, however, that the program is not regulated well enough and that some hospital participants misappropriate funds. It is important for the NMA and its members to be well educated on what is trending in the healthcare. On January 16, 2024, the Health Policy Committee invites you to our meeting, at 9:00 p.m. ET, during which we will have a 340B panel discussion led by topical experts to inform, educate, and provide context for this important topic.
