system. In this institutional review board–approved study, data regarding rheumatologic serologies and ILD patterns were noted based on chart review in patients with scleroderma. The Kruskal-Wallis rank sum and χ2 tests were used for statistical analysis. Results Results showed a statistically significant association between anti-U1 snRNP with lymphoid interstitial pneumonia, which has not been previously described. Conclusions We demonstrated novel serologic associations with ILD patterns, which have important clinical implications. More robust and high-powered studies are needed to elucidate the role of serologic testing and their association with ILD phenotypes….

. Other MSK (other than rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, low back pain, and neck pain) burden was measured as prevalence, mortality, years lived with disability (YLD), and disability-adjusted life (DALY), by year, sex, and country. We show the counts, rates, and 95% uncertainty intervals (95% UI). Joinpoint regression analysis was used to estimate the average annual percentage change (AAPC) from 1990 to 2019. A correlational analysis between the burden parameters and sociodemographic index (SDI) was performed. Results In 2019, there were 52.0 million (95% UI, 44.8–60.1 million) individuals with other MSK disorders in LAC. The age-standardized mortality rate in 2019 was 1.2 (95% UI, 0.8–1.6) per 100,000 inhabitants. The AAPC was estimated as 0.1% (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.1–0.2) and 0.2% (95% CI, 0.1–0.3) for prevalence and mortality rates, respectively. The age-standardized DALY rate was 685.4 (95% UI, 483.6–483.6) per 100,000 inhabitants, representing an AAPC of 0.2%

iatric rheumatology centers from Latin America (LATAM). In this study, we described the characteristics of transition programs from 3 pediatric rheumatology centers. We also introduced results of the first survey examining the transition experience in countries from LATAM. Methods The experience and implementation process of transition programs from 3 pediatric rheumatology centers were described. A survey based on a questionnaire created by Chira et al (J Rheumatol. 2014;41:768–779) from the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance was also administrated to pediatric rheumatology centers from LATAM. Results A total of 49 (68%) pediatric rheumatologists answered the survey. Most centers do not have an official and written transition program and reported a need for more tools and resources in their services to facilitate the transition experience. Conclusions Transition guidelines culturally tailored to developing countries are needed in LATAM….

were treated with tofacitinib and followed up. Clinical and laboratory data of these patients were recorded between January 2019 and June 2022. SPSS was used for all statistical analyses. Results The mean age of patients with MDA5+DM was 45 ± 12.4 years, and the median disease duration was 6.5 months (range, 3–13 months). The mean dosage of glucocorticoids was 34.7 ± 20.9 mg/d at the initiation of tofacitinib therapy. Overall, 47 patients were followed up for a mean duration of 7.8 ± 6.2 months. We found that the clinical symptoms of 28 patients (59.6%) were improved, but 1 patient (2.1%) died because of severe infection. Moreover, complications occurred in 25 patients (53.2%), among whom 19 patients had infections. Older age and C-reactive protein levels close to the upper value in reference range at the initial treatment were found to be the potential risk factors of infection. Furthermore, patients with cutaneous ulcers were found to have a lower risk of infection. Conclusion Tofaci

d on White and Asian patients, leaving a knowledge gap regarding Latin American populations. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the performance of the 2019 AECC for IgG4-RD in a cohort of Latin American patients. Methods A multicenter medical records review study was conducted, involving centers from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay. Data on IgG4-RD patients and mimicker conditions were collected through a standardized online form. The criterion standard for diagnosing IgG4-RD was based on the fulfillment of the Comprehensive Diagnostic Criteria for IgG4-RD and/or the Consensus Statement on Pathology. The 2019 AECC was retrospectively applied. Results We included 300 patients, with 180 (60%) having IgG4-RD and 120 (40%) having mimicker conditions. The 2019 AECC had a sensitivity of 66.7% and a specificity of 100%. Sensitivity increased to 73.3% when disease-specific autoantibody items were removed, without affecting specificity. The true-positive cases had more involved o

ding to PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) 2020 guidelines. We searched PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, and Web of Science databases by combining the following search concepts: (1) RA and (2) sarcopenia. Articles were included if they included RA patients, assessed for sarcopenia using a consensus working group definition, and assessed for clinical outcomes. Meta-analysis was performed using studies that shared the same sarcopenia definition and consistency in reporting patient or disease variables. Our search identified 3602 articles. After removal of duplicates, title and abstract screen, and full-text review, 16 articles were included for final analysis. All studies had observational study designs. The pooled prevalence of sarcopenia ranged from 24% to 30%, depending on the criteria for sarcopenia used. Factors associated with sarcopenia included higher 28-joint Disease Activity Scale scores (+0.39; 95% confidence interval, +0.02 to +0.77) and baseli
