    E arlier this year, pegcetacoplan made history as the first FDA-approved therapy for geographic atrophy. Commercially marketed as Syfovre (Apellis), pegcetacoplan showed a clinically meaningful reduction in geographic atrophy lesion growth, giving hope to a group of patients who previously had no recourse to slow their significant vision loss. Syfovre’s approval is just the first of what may be the coming wave of geographic atrophy treatments. In February, the FDA accepted Iveric Bio’s new drug application
