Mashup Score: 1Current and Future Perspectives on CT Screening for Lung Cancer: A Road Map for 2023-2027 from the IASLC - 8 month(s) ago
Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening for lung cancer significantly reduces mortality from lung cancer, as demonstrated in randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses. This review is based on the ninth CT screening symposium of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) which focuses on the major themes pertinent to the successful global implementation of LDCT screening and developed a strategy to further the implementation of lung cancer screening globally. These recommendations provide a 5-year road map to advance the implementation of LDCT screening globally including: (i) establishing universal screening program quality indicators; (ii) establishing evidence-based criteria to identify individuals who have never smoked but are at high risk of developing lung cancer; (iii) develop recommendations for incidentally detected lung nodule tracking and management protocols to complement programmatic lung cancer screening; (iv) Integrate artificial intellig

Mashup Score: 0Stage Shift Improves Lung Cancer Survival: Real-World Evidence - 1 year(s) ago
Lung cancer is the global leading cause of cancer death. Taiwan initiated several health policies including smoking cessation, precision therapy, and low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening in 1997. We aimed to investigate the effect of public policies on lung cancer survival.

Mashup Score: 3Cytisine Therapy Improved Smoking Cessation in the Randomized Screening and Multiple Intervention on Lung Epidemics Lung Cancer Screening Trial - 1 year(s) ago
Cytisine, a partial agonist-binding nicotine acetylcholine receptor, is a promising cessation intervention. We conducted a single-center, randomized, controlled trial (RCT) in Italy to assess the efficacy and tolerability of cytisine as a smoking cessation therapy among lung cancer screening participants.

Mashup Score: 0Potential Impact of Criteria Modifications on Race and Sex Disparities in Eligibility for Lung Cancer Screening - 1 year(s) ago
Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening reduces lung cancer mortality, but current eligibility criteria underestimate risk in women and racial minorities. We evaluated the impact of screening criteria modifications on LDCT eligibility and lung cancer detection.

Mashup Score: 1Impact of low‐dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening on lung cancer‐related mortality - Bonney, A - 2022 | Cochrane Library - 2 year(s) ago
Collapse all Expand all Background Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer‐related death in the world, however lung cancer screening has not been implemented in most countries at a population level. A previous Cochrane Review found limited evidence for the effectiveness of lung cancer screening with chest radiography (CXR) or sputum cytology in reducing lung cancer‐related…
