Mashup Score: 0Continuation of Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy in Transgender and Gender Diverse Individuals: A Systematic Review - 4 hour(s) ago
Gender affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) is often used by transgender and gender diverse (TGD) individuals to align their physical appearance with their gender identity. Discontinuation rates and factors leading to discontinuation of GAHT are not fully understood. We aimed to assess the continuation and discontinuation rates of GAHT and the factors leading to discontinuation of GAHT in a systematic review of the literature. We searched PubMed from 2009 until April 01, 2024, for all published studies that described initiation, discontinuation and reasons for discontinuation of GAHT.

Mashup Score: 1
During intensive hematologic care, patients are exposed to high-dose chemotherapy, corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, and total parenteral nutrition. Combined with physiologic stress and increased release of cytokines and hormones, this can lead to dysglycemia, which is associated with adverse clinical outcomes. This prospective study aimed to investigate continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to identify dysglycemia during intensive hematologic care.

Mashup Score: 2Association Between Parathyroid Hormone-Related Peptide Levels and Mortality in Patients With Malignancy - 4 day(s) ago
Hypercalcemia of malignancy is a risk factor for mortality in patients with malignancies. Although the parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) secreted by tumor cells induces hypercalcemia, the association between serum PTHrP levels and mortality remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the association between serum PTHrP levels and mortality in patients with malignancies.

Mashup Score: 13
The goal of this review is to compare the 2024 and 2011 Endocrine Society’s Clinical Practice Guidelines on vitamin D2 or vitamin D3 (vitamin D). The 2024 Guideline made recommendations for the general healthy population for skeletal and extra skeletal health benefits of vitamin D. This contrasts with the 2011 Guidelines which provided clinicians with guidance on how to evaluate and treat patients with vitamin D deficiency and prevent recurrence.

This review provides guidance for the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of vitamin D deficiency for skeletal and nonskeletal health and maintaining a circulating concentration of 25-hydroxyvitamin D of at least 30 ng/mL. Mashup Score: 7Evaluating the Risk of Venous Thromboembolism in Transfeminine and Gender Diverse People: A Retrospective Analysis - 11 day(s) ago
The risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) with feminizing gender-affirming hormone therapy is an area of concern. This analysis aimed to assess whether gender-affirming hormone therapy and other potential risk factors are associated with VTE in transfeminine and gender diverse individuals.

Mashup Score: 7Thyroid Function and Cognitive Decline: A Narrative Review - 13 day(s) ago
As the population of older adults in the United States continues to rise, understanding modifiable risk factors that contribute to cognitive decline and dementia becomes increasingly important. This narrative review summarizes existing literature on the association between thyroid function in the euthyroid range, hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, and cognitive outcomes in older adults.
