Ocular Manifestations and OCT Findings in Dengue: A Single-Arm Meta-Analysis
Dengue fever, a mosquito-borne illness caused by the dengue virus, affects millions globally, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. Increasing reports of ocular manifestations in dengue patients reveal symptoms like photophobia, reduced visual acuity, and floaters. Both anterior and posterior eye segments can be involved, with severe cases leading to conditions such as uveitis and vasculitis, placing up to 8% of patients at risk for permanent vision loss1. Improved imaging techniques, including OCT and OCTA, have expanded understanding of these ocular complications.
