Clinicians’ knowledge and awareness of PROs in immune thrombocytopenia: results of a national survey
Esther Oliva, MD, Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Bianchi Melacrino Morelli, Reggio Calabria, Italy, comments on a national survey conducted in Italy that investigated clinicians’ knowledge and awareness of the importance of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). Dr Oliva highlights that, unlike many younger physicians, senior hematologists and experienced clinicians recognize the value of PROs in assessing patient well-being and making informed treatment decisions.
