Alcoholic drinks should carry warnings about cancer risk like those that appear on cigarette packets because of the direct link between alcohol use and increased risk of at least seven types of cancer, the US surgeon general has said. Alcoholic drinks currently only carry warnings about consumption during pregnancy or when driving or using machinery.
