Speaker: Karina Wilkerson Karina Wilkerson is the Program Coordinator of the Adult Sickle Cell of Excellence Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she leads and manages nurse practitioner-driven clinics that provide multifaceted patient care. Karina has been working in healthcare for over 15 years. She spends much of her time advocating for sickle cell patient rights. Karina is an active member of multiple professional organizations that have provided her a platform to enhance health equity in minority patient populations. She further co-chairs the Research and Publications Committee for the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders. She is also a Certified Clinical Research Professional, where she is a research coordinator for multiple investigator-initiated and NIH-funded trials.
