Mashup Score: 121Fill | Opinions on the UKFPO's decision on integrated SFP into Preference Informed Allocation - 2 month(s) ago
The questionnaire aims to assess medical students’ views on applying for the Specialised (Academic) Foundation Programme (SFP). The SFP offers foundation doctors an opportunity to pursue a project in research/medical education/leadership as well as tailored support/supervision. Applications for the SFP are done regionally, and medical students can currently apply competitively for no more than two programmes during their final year of medical school. They are currently selected on the basis of traditional academic metrics other than the SJT and EPM (deciles) which have been removed. There was a recent decision to integrate allocation for SFP jobs to the new PIA system.Â

We want your input to help us design the study so that the outcomes are meaningful and so that the results will change practice. After excluding women with existing cardiac disease, the control arm will receive cardiac imaging every 3 months. The intervention arm will utilize imaging as follows: a) every 6 months in women without cardiac risk factors receiving anthracycline-free regimens, or b) every 4 months in remaining women with cardiac risk factors and/ or anthracycline use. Multiple outcomes need to be considered when deciding on an optimal imaging strategy. Therefore, we are planning that the primary outcome will be a hierarchical composite endpoint of multiple relevant outcomes, ranked from more important to less important. The outcomes we will consider, in order of descending
