Diabetes is a serious health condition that affects millions of people in the United States. It is the seventh leading cause of death, and its prevalence has tripled over the past 20 years. Each year, more than 1.5 million people are diagnosed with diabetes. Despite the availability of evidence-based treatment guidelines, the proportion of people with T2DM who fail to achieve glycemic goals continues to rise. The program is designed for healthcare providers who have basic knowledge of diabetes care and experience in managing patients with T2DM but who may not be comfortable prescribing or intensifying basal insulin therapy.

However, globally, this $150 billion industry encompasses additional forms of trafficking include organ trafficking, child soldiering and child marriage. This course is designed to equip NPs and other health care professionals to recognize, educate and appropriately respond to patients who may be victimized by traffickers.

This presentation reviews non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in children and adolescents diagnosed with ADHD. A brief overview of ADHD will be described following defining NSSI. The relationship between ADHD and NSSI will be discussed from current evidence. Mediating and moderating factors will then be discussed for a more in-depth understanding of the relationship between ADHD and NSSI. Lastly, treatment interventions for the mediating and moderating factors will be discussed with the goal to prevent children and adolescents diagnosed with ADHD at risk for NSSI from engaging in the behavior.
