My journey with the CARTO system
During my electrophysiology fellowship, I recognized the immense value of detailed mapping for understanding arrhythmia mechanisms. It became clear to me that a 3-dimensional (3D) electroanatomic map of the heart could provide an intuitive and spatially accurate reference for electrophysiologists, enabling more precise localization of electrical activity and targeted delivery of therapy. Drawing from my engineering background, I felt confident in identifying and developing the technologies needed to make such a system a reality.
