HHS restores nondiscrimination protections, expands provisions to telehealth, AI
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) finalized a rule reinstating certain regulatory protections against discrimination in healthcare that were stripped in a previous Trump-e | HHS added nondiscrimination requirements specific to telehealth and artificial intelligence in its update of the Affordable Care Act’s Section 1557 nondiscrimination rule. The agency made changes to the proposed rule that narrowed the definition of AI and moved to protect physicians from liability.
