Descemet Membrane Epiretinal Graft for Refractory Full-Thickness Macular Hole
Refractory full-thickness macular hole (FTMH) refers to persistent cases that fail to close after primary surgery, or recurrent ones that reopen after initial successful closure. Different surgical strategies for refractory FTMH have been proposed, including enlargement of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling, and the use of different tissue plugs, such as ILM flaps, posterior lens capsule, human amniotic membrane, or autologous retinal flaps.1–4 However, at present, there is still no consensus on the optimal technique for secondary repair of refractory FTMH.
