Mashup Score: 0Post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and quality of life among older patients with cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic - 5 month(s) ago
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and its associated health restrictions have harmed the population psychologically. We aimed to compare the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms and Quality of Life (QoL) in older French patients with cancer to the younger ones.

Mashup Score: 3Treating acute myelogenous leukemia in patients aged 70 and above: Recommendations from the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) - 6 month(s) ago
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) treatment is challenging in older patients. There is a lack of evidence-based recommendations for older patients ≥70, a group largely underrepresented in clinical trials. With new treatment options being available in recent years, recommendations are needed for these patients. As such the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) assembled a task force to review the evidence specific to treatment and outcomes in this population of patients ≥70 years. Six questions were selected by the expert panel in domains of (1) baseline assessment, (2) frontline therapy, (3) post-remission therapy, (4) treatment for relapse, (5) targeted therapies, and (6) patient reported outcome/function and enhancing treatment tolerance.

Mashup Score: 0Safety and efficacy of anti-BCMA CAR-T cell therapy in older adults with multiple myeloma: A systematic review and meta-analysis - 6 month(s) ago
Anti-B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy is transforming the care of patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (MM). Unfortunately, despite being a disease of older adults these patients remain under-represented in most pivotal clinical trials. We performed a systematic review and proportion meta-analysis of prospective clinical trials and observational studies of anti-BCMA CAR-T therapy in patients with MM with the aim to determine the efficacy and safety of this therapy in older adults (≥65 years).

Mashup Score: 0
Colorectal cancer is common, with the highest incidence and mortality rate observed in adults ≥70 years [1]. Through the past decades, survival has substantially improved in young and fit patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) eligible for intensive treatment including chemotherapy combinations (doublet/triplet) and monoclonal antibodies, e.g., vascular endothelial growth factor receptor inhibitors (VEGFi), and epidermal growth factor receptor-1 inhibitors (EGFRi). While all patients are considered candidates for the VEGFi bevacizumab (bev) during the continuum of care, only subgroups according to RAS and BRAF mutation status are suitable for treatment with EGFRi [2].

Mashup Score: 0Prognostic relevance of sidedness in older patients with colon cancer: A review and pooled analysis of 227,218 patients - 6 month(s) ago
Age is a major risk factor for sporadic colon cancer (CC). In the general population, the side of the tumor (right versus left) shows a possible significant prognostic effect, with right tumors displaying the worst outcome due to biological differences. However, little is known about the role of sidedness in the older population. We conducted a pooled analysis of observational and prospective studies to confirm or reject the hypothesis that side is a prognostic variable, even in older patients with CC.
