Hello again!

Happy fall and welcome to October. As September wrapped up, the UroGPO Fall 2023 National Conference, hosted by Specialty Networks, was held in Aurora, Colorado. This meeting provided both practical updates on practice management for urologists and scientific updates in Urology, with a heavy focus on advanced prostate cancer.

In the coming weeks, we’ll highlight take aways from this meeting but here’s a teaser highlighting some of the key speakers at this meeting and the key topics. The links below will, I hope, be not just entertaining but informative.

    • Far be it for me to go a whole email update without focusing on some clinical science. One of the key changes in the management of prostate cancer in the last five years has been the introduction and widespread use of PSMA-PET imaging. At UroGPO, one of the key sessions was hosted by Dr. Medhat Osman discussing “Imaging in Prostate Cancer Patients”. PSMA-PET has been recommended in NCCN guidelines for the past few iterations. However, there remain may questions regarding how to perform and interpret these studies. In the linked document, Dr. Fendler and colleagues lay out EANM / SNMMI guidance on this topic.
