Generative AI: New Technology to Help Patients, Trials, and More
Dear colleagues,

We hear a lot about artificial intelligence (AI) and what it can do to help patients, clinical trials, and everyone in the health care ecosystem. I tackled the subject of Generative AI with Simon Arkell, CEO of Ryght, on “Healthcare Unfiltered” to explain and simplify the concept and its uses. I know that many of us are not super comfortable with the concept of AI, but we should still work toward understanding it and step out of our comfort zone to learn new things as Dr. Rathmell, director of the National Cancer Institute, suggested in a tweet during the 2024 AACR meeting. Speaking of AACR and AI, I was delighted to see my colleague and friend, Dr. Subbiah, chair a session on AI and how it can accelerate oncology research. These technologies must be implemented to help our patients.

Dr. Knudson, CEO of the American Chemical Society, highlighted that many cancer deaths are preventable, making me wonder how we can deploy AI and other innovations to help mitigate these. AACR was in full swing this past week, and soon, we will all be heading to ASCO; check out what Blood Cancers Today has in store for you between meetings. They bring news on innovation and technology to your inbox.

Until next time,
Chadi
