This is an excellent op-ed from Dr. Arline Gerominus regarding her groundbreaking hypothesis, ‘weathering.’ The idea refers to chronic social and psychological stress that activates harmful biological processes among people in marginalized communities, causing them to age prematurely. Let me be more succinct- structural discrimination (i.e., racism) causes communities of color (particularly Black Americans) to have shorter life expectancies than white Americans. #RacismKills
