    In this single center analysis of 705 patients with multiple myeloma, African-Americans had comparable PFS and OS with white patients. This study demonstrates that social determinants of health (rather than biology) contributes to poorer outcomes of vulnerable racial minorities, and adds to previous literature from the VA by Filmore and Munshi et al in Blood 2019 in which African American patients with myeloma actually had superior outcomes.
