A federal appeals court in Louisiana reversed a lower court’s decision, overturning the Affordable Care Act’s requirement that all health plans cover preventive health care as part of their coverage. Earlier this spring, the ruling overturned one of the most popular requirements of the ACA by removing the financial barriers to a range of preventive services. If it had taken effect immediately, it could affect roughly 150 million Americans enrolled in private health insurance through employer-sponsored plans or the Obamacare marketplaces.
